The Bisker group develops optical nanosensors using fluorescent nanoparticles to probe living systems at the nano-scale.
In particular, we utilize the optical properties of functionalized single-walled carbon nanotubes to selectively and specifically detect bio-analytes of interest, aiming to monitor active processes within live cells, and to characterise the underlying nonequilibrium dynamics.
